Johm Amesse is an elementary school that serves students from preschool to the fifth grade. The school is located in the Montbello area Northeast of Denver. All teaching staff are highly qualified and meet the guidelines for NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. They are very commited to the success of every child. The staff provides multiple opportunities for all children to reach their maximum potential. They also strive to provide a very nurturing and enriching environment for students. Character Education is used to promote acceptance and tolerance for all people as well as core social values
Uniforms
John H. Amesse Elementary has a Mandatory Uniform Policy
The Collaborative School Committee has determined that we will have a mandatory dress code with school uniforms. Because of the research on the success of schools with uniform policies, more and more of our schools are adoptng uniforms. We want to be sure to have the very best learning environment for our students. We believe that being a uniform school will help to make this possible. The uniform guidelines are listed below:

Pants Solid Navy Blue or Khaki

Shirts Solid Navy Blue, White, Light Blue or Khaki

Skirts or Skorts Solid Navy Blue or Khaki (Girls Only)

Shorts Solid Navy Blue or Khaki Need to be long offical uniform shorts

Socks Solid Navy Blue, White, Light Blue or Khaki

Shoes Casual dark shoes or tennis shoes

Sweater Solid Navy Blue, Light Blue, Khaki or White
Parents of children not in uniform will recieve reminders on the first occasion. After that, parents may be asked to either bring a uniform to school or come to take the child home.
For parents experiencing financial hardships, there will be a linited number of scholarships available for uniforms. If you have a need, you will need to talk to our psychologist, Mrs. Whipple at (303) 371-0940
